Exemplaria Perfecta | Pinacotheca Vaticana

The Vatican Museums house the largest collection of antiques in the world. More than 7 kilometres of exhibition to admire some amazingly beautiful works of art, collections that are five centuries old and are visited by more than three million people every year.

The Museum is one of the most famous cultural institutions of the Holy See, known throughout the world for the works of art that the Roman Pontiffs have ordered, collected and conserved over the centuries. Besides the enormous wealth of works of art, furniture, sculptures and paintings on show, the itinerary to the Vatican museums includes a visit to the most significant and artistically noteworthy parts of the Vatican Apostolic Palazzo, such as the Niccolina Chapel with the paintings of the Blessed Angel, the Borgia Apartment that was decorated by Pinturicchio, the rooms painted by Raffaello and, of course, the Sistine Chapel, with the frescoes painted by the great Masters from Umbria and Tuscany in the 15th century and by Michelangelo himself.

This institution has the enormous responsibility of keeping, conserving, studying and valorising the priceless cultural and artistic heritage, promoting its knowledge to a wide public from all over the world. More than three hundred people – management, clerks, restorers and guardians – dedicate all their professionalism and will every day to this difficult task.

The universal language of art, able to talk to people of different culture, language and religion, is one of the main methods for interior enrichment and reciprocal communication. The lovely halls in the Vatican Museums are visited by millions every year and give the visitor the chance to admire works of art by the greatest Masters of the past giving us those emotions that only Art can give.

Now, with the EXEMPLARIA PERFECTA® project, we can touch and own these great works of art with true reproductions of the origins in the finest details. This is possible thanks to the use of an innovative technique that is being used for the first time in the world, which gives a perfect 3D reconstruction of the chromatic features. The extensive knowledge of antique painting techniques and the use of this amazing artistic technique, produces works of incredible perfection that have never been possible before.
